About this role
Denver International Airport, the third-busiest in the United States, offers the DENtern Program for real-world aviation experience. Airside Operations DENterns contribute to the division supporting Vision 100, aiming for 100 million annual passengers. Students engage in impactful projects through a cohort-based model.
Conduct thorough inspections of airport facilities and airfields to maintain compliance with FAA regulations, including FAR Part 139. Enforce security protocols, manage emergency responses, and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to address incidents. Support airport safety in a dynamic airside environment.

This 6-month on-call internship features flexible schedules accommodating academic commitments, with 20-39 hours weekly in summer and 15-30 during semesters. Mostly on-site at DEN with limited remote opportunities. Employees must work within Colorado, no housing or relocation assistance.
Receive competitive hourly pay commensurate with education, ranging $20.22 to $22.78/hr. Eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan. Position offers routine or variable work schedules up to 39 hours weekly.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled college student
- Able to work mostly on-site with limited remote opportunities
- Must work within the state of Colorado
- Available for on-call position with variable work schedules
- Flexible to accommodate current academic commitments
- Able to commit to hours not exceeding 39 per week
