About this role
The Airport Operations Crew provides award-winning customer service to customers in the airport. Crewmembers check in and verify customers’ personal identification, tag, lift, and handle customer luggage, and book, sell, and verify flight reservations. They meet and assist with flight arrivals and departures while helping prepare aircraft cabins for departure.
Daily duties include announcing flight arrivals, departures, and pre-boarding information via the public address system. Crewmembers communicate with customers to keep them constantly informed and offer ancillary products such as “even more speed” and “even more space.” They coordinate customer boarding and deplaning, operating equipment like Jet bridges, Turbo ways, and airstairs.
Crewmembers assist customers with special needs and rotate through all Airport Operations functions including gate and ticket counter. They coordinate various duties with coworkers and other departments to ensure proper handling of customers. Individuals must be comfortable speaking on a public address system, using computers, and airport equipment.
Perform under pressure within fixed time constraints while adhering to JetBlue Uniform Policy Manual Standards. Available for variable hours, flexible shifts, holidays, and weekends with occasional overnight travel. Acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge and pass a pre-employment drug test.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- At least eighteen (18) years old
- One (1) year of customer service or sales experience
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills
- Complete fluency in written and spoken English
- Experience using a mouse, computer, keyboard and basic word processing, email and office applications
- Must be able to use handheld radios and microphones
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge
