About this role
This role assists in the inspection of plant equipment for defects, misalignment, wear, and insufficient lubrication. The technician also assists in installing and repairing conduit, splicing and insulating wires and cables, and analyzes all types of circuits and wiring diagrams to design, test, service, install, dismantle, repair, adjust, and calibrate electronic devices and systems.
Day-to-day tasks include dismantling, cleaning, repairing, replacing, erecting, moving, installing, adjusting, maintaining, assembling, and lubricating mechanical and electrical equipment. The technician also builds or repairs all types of jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies, and determines the best manner of making repairs to minimize interruption of production.
The technician operates tools such as drill press, pipe threading machine, power saws, burning and welding equipment, shears, hydraulic presses, bending rolls, punch presses, and riveting machines. They also operate mobile and hoisting equipment and troubleshoot a variety of technical devices and processes, with the ability to lift 70 pounds and a valid forklift license required.
Candidates should have 2-5 years of maintenance experience and possess certifications of appropriate regulated trades such as welding and hydraulics. The position involves assembling and aligning gears, bearings, and shafts with press, sliding, and running fits, working with a wide range of electrical and mechanical systems in a plant environment.
Requirements
- Ability to operate tools such as drill press, pipe threading machine, power saws, burning and welding equipment, shears, hydraulic presses, bending rolls, punch presses, shears, and riveting machine.
- Ability to troubleshoot a variety of technical devices and processes.
- Ability to operate mobile and hoisting equipment.
- 2-5 years of maintenance experience.
- Possess certifications of appropriate regulated trades such as welding, hydraulics, etc.
- Possess valid forklift license.
- Ability to lift 70 pounds.
