About this role

Fraport Greece operates 14 regional airports across Greece and will soon manage Kalamata Airport (KLX). The Airport Operations Coordinator joins the Airport’s Operational Control Center to ensure safe, smooth, and efficient airport operations in line with the Aerodrome Operations Manual and all regulatory requirements.

The role centers on real-time coordination of aircraft parking stands, departure gates, check-in counters, and baggage belts while monitoring ATC frequencies and disseminating NOTAMs, weather data, and forecasts to stakeholders. The coordinator also maintains the Daily Airport Log and updates corporate systems including AODB, SkyPort, and FIDs.

Work takes place inside the AOCC at Kalamata Airport alongside operational teams responsible for ground handling, safety, and compliance. The position requires strict adherence to ICAO, EASA, and HCAA standards during both routine operations and contingency events.

Requirements

  • High School or Vocational Upper Secondary School Diploma.
  • Minimum of two years of employment, preferably in the aviation sector.
  • Excellent understanding of airport rules and regulations and the aviation regulatory framework (EASA, ICAO, IATA, HCAA).
  • Flight Dispatcher diploma or certification highly appreciated.
  • Advanced level in MS Office.
  • Fluency in Greek and English at professional corporate level (oral and written).
  • Fulfilled military obligations, if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage allocation of aircraft parking stands, departure gates, check-in counters, and baggage belts to ensure efficient resource use and safety compliance.
  • Continuously monitor ATC frequencies per SOPs and HCAA requirements and promptly communicate relevant information to internal teams.
  • Track and disseminate valid NOTAMs, actual weather data, and forecasts to support accurate operational decision-making.
  • Execute contingency procedures during equipment failures and implement actions outlined in the Emergency Response Plan and Winter Operations Plan.
  • Provide operational reports for VIP and state flights and maintain the Daily Airport Log with all essential events.
  • Insert flight-related data into corporate systems (AODB, SkyPort, FIDs) and keep FG platforms updated accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure full compliance with ICAO and HCAA standards across all operational duties.
