This part-time opportunity generally involves working 32 hours over 5 days, with schedules determined in accordance with a seniority-based bidding process. New hires complete 4-6 weeks of training consisting of 8-hour classroom or on-the-job instruction.

Requirements

  • Must be a current resident of the State of Ohio.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Capability to lift and move heavy items, up to 70 pounds, on a regular basis.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a driver's permit for ground equipment operation.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and early mornings.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Willingness to complete 4-6 weeks of training (classroom and on-the-job).
  • Must not have been interviewed and not selected for the Ramp Agent position at CMH within the last 12 months.

Responsibilities

  • Guide aircraft into and out of parking positions using hand signals or marshaling wands.
  • Safely load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail from aircraft.
  • Operate ground support equipment such as belt loaders, tugs, and baggage carts.
  • Perform aircraft de-icing and anti-icing operations during cold weather conditions.
  • Secure cargo and baggage to ensure compliance with weight and balance requirements.
  • Assist with aircraft pushback and towing procedures.
  • Inspect ramp area for safety hazards and maintain cleanliness.
