About this role
Supervise and participate in the work of semi-skilled and skilled workers performing maintenance and repair of airfield markings, pavement repairs, mowing, heavy equipment operating, and RSA/TSA signage. Requires knowledge of FAA Part 139 Certification requirements. Work follows strict FAA, TSA guidelines, time limitations, and limited supervision while prioritizing public safety, security, and customer service.
Review, investigate, resolve, or recommend on service requests and property maintenance needs while maintaining FAA Part 139 and TSA compliance. Coordinate daily use and maintenance of supplies and equipment, assign tasks, and train on airport-specific equipment. Maintain accurate records, work orders, and employee performance documentation.
Supervise crews of Airfield Maintenance Technicians including AMT I’s, AMT II’s, and AMT III’s operating sweepers, graders, pavement repair tools, mowers, and painting equipment. Manage tasks to meet division demands, ensure FAA, TSA, and MAT regulations compliance, and monitor technician effectiveness. Keep management informed on daily operations.
Operate loaders, backhoes, dozers, skid steers, dump trucks, multifunction snowplows, and airport-specific snow equipment. Perform duties in active runway and taxiway environments following FAA controllers, signage, lighting, and markings. Train new and experienced technicians, maintaining accurate Aviation-specific training records.
Requirements
- Knowledge of FAA Part 139 Certification requirements
- Experience operating heavy equipment including loaders, backhoes, dozers, skid steers, dump trucks, and airport snow equipment
- Ability to perform maintenance in active runway and taxiway environments
- Familiarity with airfield markings, pavement repairs, mowing, and RSA/TSA signage
- Supervisory experience with maintenance technician crews
- Compliance with FAA, TSA, and MAT airport requirements
- Ability to train technicians on airport-specific equipment and procedures
- Pass background check as certain convictions disqualify from unescorted access
Responsibilities

- Operate loaders, backhoes, dozers, skid steers, dump trucks, multifunction snowplows, and airport-specific snow equipment
- Supervise crews performing airfield sweeping, pavement repairs, crack filling, FOD removal, mowing, painting, and heavy equipment operations
- Perform duties in active runway and taxiway environments following FAA traffic controllers and airfield signage, lighting, and markings
