About this role

This role involves the completion of administrative tasks and coordination relating to the front-line operation, including data entry, ramp activities, sort activities, trace activities, dispatch activities, and local customer service. While operational tasks are part of the role, the majority of time is spent on office-based activities.

You will coordinate all local ground operations involving aircraft marshaling, loading, and unloading, ensuring trunk aircraft are handled safely and efficiently. Additional duties include completing paperwork, manifests, and computing weight and balance before take-off, as well as inspecting ground equipment to ensure proper operating condition and driving mechanical ground equipment as needed.

In this role, you will lead and provide technical support to cargo handling employees while coordinating flight delays, overflows, cancellations, and re-routes. You will also marshal arriving and departing flights and operate ground equipment to maintain safe operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate ground equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, scanning, and paperwork.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance and comply with TSA and local airport regulations.
  • Knowledge of hazardous materials handling, labeling, and documentation procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail for accurate completion of paperwork, manifests, and weight and balance computations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all local ground operations relating to the operational interface between aircraft marshaling, loading, and unloading activities.
  • Ensure trunk aircraft are loaded/unloaded safely and efficiently, completing all related paperwork and manifests in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Compute proper weight and balance of aircraft before take-off.
  • Drive and operate mechanical ground equipment and instruct ground handling personnel in proper usage.
  • Coordinate flight delays, overflows, cancellations, and re-routes.
  • Ensure hazardous materials are labeled, loaded, and well documented before departure.
  • Sort and properly scan all inbound and outbound IP.
  • Update and monitor regulatory documentation of the dispatch office, dispatch manual, TSA documentation, and DGs files.
