The work includes computer data entry, preparing all flight documents, interfacing with U.S. Customs, and handling import and export documentation. Accept and distribute cargo in accordance with air carrier and DOT regulations, move cargo up to 70lbs, and comply with WFS site security procedures. Remain cognizant of staff, security contractors, and visitors' activities while reporting breaches.
Travel to Airport Operational Area to meet flights for documents, notify brokers of arrivals, assist customers retrieving freight, and collect charges. Confirm bookings, TSA screening, data capture AWB into airline systems, manifest flights, and verify post-flight inventory. Answer calls, respond to emails, and prepare reports like irregularity and statistics.
Operate in a fast-paced environment with rotating shifts, driving cargo handling equipment, and maintaining security under Airport Police and TSA. Interface with customers for sales leads, quotes, and contracts while estimating delivery dates. Take off on your next career with a global aviation leader.
Requirements
- HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
- Valid driver's license and Port Authority or Airport Authority permit to use ramp side service roads
- At least 18 years of age if position requires driving cargo handling equipment
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays and days off
- Ability to handle the stress of a fast-paced eight-hour shift
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
- Minimum typing speed of 30 WPM
Responsibilities
- Prepare documentation prior to flight arrival or departure, review, organize, make copies and distribute
- Travel to Airport Operational Area to meet flight upon arrival or departure to retrieve or drop off documents
- Data capture AWB information into airline system(s)
- Manifest flight based on information received from the warehouse
- Print flight manifest, cargo pallet message, deadload and NOTOC and deliver to the aircraft
- Move cargo up to 70lbs
- Drive all cargo handling equipment
- Comply with WFS site security procedures and report breaches
