Handle computer data entry, prepare all flight documents, and interface with U.S. Customs. Prepare import and export documentation, accept and distribute cargo per air carrier and DOT regulations. Move cargo up to 70lbs, comply with WFS site security procedures, and report breaches or suspicious occurrences.

Travel to Airport Operational Area to meet flights for document retrieval or drop-off. Notify brokers or freight forwarders on Master Airway Bill of shipment arrival or hold. Provide customer assistance, collect charges, process Customs Out, and confirm TSA screening.

Manifest flights based on warehouse information, print manifests and deliver to aircraft. Verify post-flight inventory, maintain file records, and prepare reports like irregularity and weekly statistics. Answer incoming calls and respond to emails in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and Port Authority or Airport Authority permit to use ramp side service roads
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays and days off
  • Ability to handle stress of a fast-paced eight-hour shift
  • Ability to drive all cargo handling equipment
  • Ability to move cargo up to 70lbs
  • Minimum typing speed of 30 WPM and fluency in reading, writing, speaking English

Responsibilities

  • Prepare documentation prior to flight arrival or departure, review, organize, make copies and distribute
  • Travel to Airport Operational Area to meet flight upon arrival or departure to retrieve or drop off documents
  • Notify Broker or Freight Forwarder on Master Airway Bill of shipment’s arrival or on hold
  • Provide assistance to customers arriving to retrieve documents and freight
  • Collect appropriate charges and document method of payment
  • Process Customs Out for every transaction before customer departure
  • Data capture AWB information into airline system(s) and manifest flight
  • Print flight manifest, cargo pallet message, deadload and NOTOC and deliver to aircraft
