About this role
The Ground Service Agent works in a fast-paced environment performing activities related to working on the airport ramp and keeping flights running smoothly and safely. Horizon Air airport teams move guests and their belongings from curb to cabin while creating remarkable experiences.
Daily work includes loading and offloading luggage and cargo, marshaling and pushing back aircraft, and servicing planes with lavatory, potable water, grooming, deicing and security searches. Agents also distribute fuel slips, load plans and cargo manifests to flight crews.
Multiple types of equipment are operated daily, including belt-loaders, tugs, air-start units, bag carts, lavatory carts and deice trucks. Aircraft tow operations are executed when required, along with accurate data entry for weight and balance forms.

Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid unexpired driver’s license issued by a US state, territory or the District of Columbia.
- Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach and grasp.
- Ability to perform basic mathematics.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to obtain USPS Mail Handling Certification and airport security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Load and offload luggage and cargo, transporting to various airport locations.
- Distribute all paperwork to flight crews including fuel slips, load plans, cargo manifests and flight releases.
- Marshal and push back aircraft.
- Prepare weight and balance forms and ensure load integrity by inputting accurate commodity codes and weights.
- Service aircraft including lavatory, potable water, aircraft grooming, deicing and security searches.
- Operate multiple types of equipment such as belt-loaders, tugs, air-start units, bag carts, lavatory carts and deice trucks.
- Execute aircraft tow operations if required.
