About this role

Do you enjoy working outdoors in a fast-paced, safety-obsessed aviation environment? As a Ramp Agent, you will be essential in ensuring that flights run on time by providing efficient ground support services at Oakland International Airport.

Your day-to-day involves guiding inbound and outbound airplanes to and from the gate, transporting and loading passenger baggage, cargo, and mail into aircraft bins. You will also operate heavy equipment like pushback tugs and belt loaders, and clean aircraft cabins between flights.

Requirements

  • Ability to work outdoors in a fast-paced, safety-obsessed aviation environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to complete all training when required by the company, airport governing authority, or customer.
  • Commitment to following company procedures and protocols to ensure safe and responsible operations.
  • Ability to take reasonable care for the health, wellbeing, safety, and security of yourself and others.
  • Willingness to report any hazards, near misses, incidents, accidents, or dangerous occurrences to a manager or supervisor.
  • Ability to operate or drive motorized equipment such as belt loaders, pushback tugs, and bag carts.

Responsibilities

  • Guide inbound and outbound airplanes to and from the gate.
  • Transport, lift, load, unload, sort, and transfer passenger baggage, cargo, and mail material in and out of aircraft bins, belt loaders, or baggage carts.
  • Safeguard customer baggage, air cargo, and airmail from weather, loss, theft, damage, or destruction.
  • Clean aircraft passenger cabins between flights and stock aircraft with needed supplies.
  • Operate heavy equipment such as pushback equipment, belt loaders, air start units, lift trucks, bag carts, lavatory carts, and deicers.
  • Receive and record customer baggage, air freight, mail, and company materials as required.
  • Pick up, deliver, and transport cargo and baggage to and from aircraft, including wheelchairs, strollers, and live animals.
  • Complete paperwork and forms connected with work assignments and enter data into the company's information system.
