About this role
As a Ramp Lead Agent, you will lead the movement of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft, ensuring safe and efficient ramp operations. You are responsible for the safe receipt and dispatch of assigned flights, maintaining load integrity and safety compliance.
Your daily duties involve safely lifting and moving 70 lbs. of cargo and baggage continuously, operating motorized equipment, and reading aircraft weight and balance load sheets. You will also complete hazardous material identification and cargo routing tags while working in confined spaces with frequent bending and kneeling. Transporting cargo between aircraft, outbound bag rooms, terminals, and air cargo facilities is a core responsibility.
You will lead and assist Ramp Agents to ensure they perform duties professionally and safely. Training employees during on-the-job training and assigning them to work with experienced agents are key aspects of this role. The work is primarily outdoors in all weather conditions, requiring flexibility with variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
As a Lead Agent, you have the opportunity to develop supervisory skills while ensuring safety compliance. The role provides exposure to airline operations and mandatory training to enhance your expertise. With prior ramp experience required, this is a step up for experienced agents seeking leadership responsibilities.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma, GED, or six months of ramp agent experience.
- Must pass all pre-employment testing, including a drug test.
- Must proficiently speak, read, and write in English.
- Must have a current driver's license with no violations over the past 5 years.
- Capable of safely lifting up to 70 lbs. continuously.
- Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including overtime, weekends, and holidays, and comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Prior ramp or airline experience required.
Responsibilities

- Lead and participate in the movement of cargo and baggage on and off aircraft and transport between terminals.
- Operate motorized equipment to move cargo and baggage.
- Read, interpret, and complete aircraft weight and balance load sheets, hazardous material labels, and loading manifests.
- Ensure the safe receipt and dispatch of assigned flights, maintaining load integrity and safety compliance.
- Assist Ramp Agents in their duties to ensure professional, safe, and efficient performance.
- Train employees during on-the-job training or assign them to work with experienced agents.
