Cordoba Corporation, a leading engineering and design firm based in California, seeks a Senior Engineer for its Facilities Sector. The role supports client's operational business units in documenting, analyzing, and recommending solutions to current and future operational challenges. Focus areas include airport/aviation planning such as Landside, Terminal, or Airside.
Conduct technical studies, data analysis, and simulation of airport business/operations. Collect and analyze aviation data like historic flight schedules, Aerobahn airfield tracking, TSA, CBP, staffing, baggaging, and space occupancy. Develop gated flight schedules for upcoming seasons and baseline gate/counter assignments for common-use facilities.
Prepare, review, and lead studies on improving operational efficiency, increasing capacity, managing delays, and handling changes due to construction or policy. Perform simulation and modeling with tools like CAST for gate allocation and Simio for processing flows. Conduct field observations and review modeling methodologies, assumptions, and parameters.
Review functionality of massing, stacking, and conceptual layouts from operational perspectives, providing recommendations and sketches for airside and terminal space improvements. Coordinate with commercial, operations, maintenance, and other stakeholders to provide input and modify assumptions. Develop reports and presentations for stakeholders and airport management.
Requirements
- 5-12 years of experience in airport planning, operations, simulation, and data analysis
- Proficient with MS Office and MS 365 products
- Experience in CAST or aircraft gate/stand allocation
- Experience with Simio or processing/flow simulation software
- Preferred experience with data and statistical software such as Python, R, SAS
- Preferred experience with analytical software such as Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, GIS, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM
- Degree in industrial engineering, civil engineering, transportation planning, city/urban planning, architecture, aviation, business, operations research, or related technical field
Responsibilities
- Support process improvement by coordinating with operational business units, identifying inefficiencies in airside and terminal components, and providing improvement opportunities
- Collect and analyze aviation operational data such as historic flight schedules, Aerobahn tracking, TSA, CBP, staffing, baggaging, and space occupancy
- Develop gated flight schedules for upcoming seasons
- Develop baseline gate/counter assignment/allocation for common-use facilities
- Prepare, review, and lead studies on improving operational efficiency, increasing capacity, managing delays, and operational changes due to construction, policy, or safety
- Perform simulation and modeling including CAST gate/stand allocation, Simio, gate utilization analysis, and queueing analysis on passenger processing
- Conduct field observations for data collection and information gathering on airport operations
- Coordinate with commercial, operations, maintenance, and other stakeholders; develop reports and presentations to stakeholders and airport management
Benefits
- Salary Range: $165,000 to $185,000 yearly
- Relocation Assistance may be available for qualified candidates based on business needs and final offer letter
