About this role
Process Assistants are pivotal in ensuring smooth daily operations at Amazon's AUS Aviation Security team. This part-time role combines production work with managerial duties, supervising shifts and allocating labour to meet operational demands.
Day-to-day responsibilities include leading team meetings, assigning job duties, and monitoring compliance with the Regulated Air Cargo Agent (RACA) security program. You will also assist on the floor as an associate resource, training team members and verifying SOP compliance.
You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure secure handling and transportation of air cargo. The role requires tracking and reporting ATS/labour hours, managing risks and incidents, and referring all job injuries immediately to the Aviation Security Manager.
This position offers the opportunity to develop leadership skills in a fast-paced aviation environment. You will apply industry and Amazon best practices while contributing to safety initiatives and coaching associates to work safely at all times.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience in working and/or leading as part of a team
- Ability to work a variety of hours as business demands
- Hold a valid and current ASIC (Aviation Security Identification Card)
- Comfortable lifting up to 16 kg, standing/walking for up to 10–12 hours, and frequently pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, and reaching (with or without reasonable accommodation)
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to coach, train, and assist team members
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to unplanned situations
- Excellent time management skills
Responsibilities
- Support daily management of department duties, including allocating labour, leading meetings, and assigning job duties
- Monitor compliance with AvSec RACA program requirements
- Apply industry and Amazon best practices for the secure handling and transportation of air cargo
- Track and report ATS/labour hours
- Assist on the floor as an associate resource — train associates and verify SOP compliance
- Ensure successful area performance through tracking, reporting, and feedback on associate productivity, quality, safety, and security
- Report and manage risks and incidents; refer all job injuries immediately to the Aviation Security Manager
- Identify and address safety hazards within the work area; participate in safety initiatives and coach associates to work safely at all times
