About this role

This role performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures. The technician follows established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines, inspecting, cleaning, and repairing facilities, equipment, or fixtures while observing and documenting signs of wear and tear.

Day-to-day work involves performing major and minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures by utilizing multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment. The technician inspects, operates, or tests facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues, dismantles equipment to access and remove defective parts, and diagnoses problems utilizing blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.

This position manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing required written and electronic information such as expense vouchers, weekly summaries, and maintenance logs. The technician conducts price comparison of parts and travel related costs, orders parts and replacement equipment, tracks orders, records purchases and usage, and submits warranty claims while complying with OSHA and EPA regulations.

This role offers the opportunity to lead and participate in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools while determining customer needs and business priorities. The technician coordinates and executes work assignments, provides advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved, and models how to adapt to change or new challenges.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Electrician certification or equivalent
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures
  • Proficiency in multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs
  • Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other maintenance equipment
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines
  • Ability to manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor relationships
  • Experience with price comparison, ordering parts, and tracking inventory
