About this role

Supervise and participate in the work of Airport Operations Center Coordinators at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Organize shift resources, assign tasks, provide training, handle scheduling, conduct performance reviews, and relay complex oral and written instructions. Act decisively with independent judgment within established rules and procedures.

Provide assistance to tenants, contractors, the traveling public, and airport employees while establishing effective working relationships. Respond calmly and effectively in emergency situations to ensure safety of persons and security of property. Represent the airport in a professional, positive manner.

Assist the Joint Operations Center Manager with 24/7/365 administrative duty officer responsibilities. Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including operating radio equipment. Maintain accurate records and produce reports as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management/Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field plus three years of experience
  • Or Associate’s Degree in Aviation Management/Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field plus five years of experience
  • Or High School Diploma or Equivalent and seven years of experience
  • Work experience in Airport Operations at an FAR Part 139 certified airport preferred
  • Knowledge of FAR Parts 139 and TSR Part 1542
  • Knowledge of ICS/NIMS
  • Knowledge of airport operations and telecommunications skills
  • Knowledge of airport locations, processes, and emergency response
