About this role
As a PT Outbound Freight Handler, you will load and unload freight onto and off of equipment, as well as assist in the recouping of damaged freight. This role is essential to ensuring shipments are handled safely and efficiently in a fast-paced freight environment.
Day-to-day tasks include preparing, sweeping, inspecting, and cleaning trailers before loading. You will use safe lifting techniques and select proper equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, drum trucks, pallet jacks, and rollers to move and arrange freight.
You will weigh and dimension shipments to ensure proper classification and safe handling, while planning cube utilization and weight distribution. Counting and inspecting freight condition, documenting shortages or damage, and reviewing freight bills for special instructions are also key responsibilities.
This position operates on a second shift schedule in a warehouse setting. You will work alongside other handlers to verify manifests, check for exceptions, and ensure hazardous materials are properly documented and placarded.
This part-time role offers the opportunity to develop skills in freight handling and equipment operation within a supportive team environment. Consistent attention to detail and safety is critical to success.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to satisfactorily pass a background check and an alcohol and drug test
- Prior experience as a Forklift Operator, Dock or Warehouse Worker, or Material Handler preferred
- Previously held a Forklift Certification preferred
- Ability to review freight bills for special instructions and check manifests for existing exceptions
- Ability to verify hazardous material product descriptions and proper placarding when loading hazardous material
- Ability to properly block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport

Benefits
- Hourly pay range of $18.10 - $21.60
