About this role

Passenger Service Agents meet and greet customers with tickets and provide assistance to passengers as requested or required. They monitor ticket counter and Self Service Check-in queue activity. Assist with the ticketing and boarding process, gates, and baggage service in a busy airport environment.

Greet passengers, clients, and airline personnel in a courteous and professional manner daily. Pre-screen passenger tickets to accurately determine city destinations and gate locations for international and domestic flights. Provide general information, directions, flight details, and special services like courtesy chairs and bag carts.

Work throughout the terminal area, standing and walking during scheduled shifts while handling physical demands. Consistently push, pull, and lift 50 to 70 lbs, and carry oversized bags such as ski bags up to 125 yards. Deal tactfully with all situations, refer difficult passengers to security, and maintain work area cleanliness.

Keep supervisors informed of needs and problems, attend required meetings and inservices. Project a positive image, adhere to company policies, and utilize equipment cost-effectively. Perform other duties as requested while maintaining confidentiality and clear communication in English.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Computer experience necessary
  • Previous Customer Service experience preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have reliable telephone and transportation
  • Must be able to stand/walk in terminal area throughout the scheduled shift
  • Must be able to consistently push, pull and lift 50 to 70 lbs; carry oversized bags 100 to 125 yards
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests; complete criminal background check; obtain security badge; U.S. citizen or INS authorized

Responsibilities

  • Greet passengers, clients and airline personnel in a courteous and professional manner
  • Pre-screen passenger tickets and determine city destination/gate locations from reference documents
  • Provide general information to passengers, give directions and flight information
  • Provide special services (courtesy chairs/bag carts) as required
  • Direct large pieces of luggage, pets and other checked articles to oversize
  • Summon the security supervisor and refer difficult or uncooperative passengers to security
  • Keep supervisor informed of needs and problems in assigned areas; maintain cleanliness of work area
  • Attend meetings and inservices as required; perform other duties as requested
