The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all facility systems. This role requires a highly motivated, detail-oriented leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and performs well under pressure.
The supervisor utilizes strong critical-thinking skills to develop innovative, practical solutions for both routine and complex challenges. Emphasis is placed on safety, operational effectiveness, budget-conscious decision making, and high-quality workmanship throughout all activities.
This position leads and coordinates the activities of small groups of maintenance personnel while collaborating closely with team members and stakeholders. The supervisor gathers input from various sources and consistently evaluates processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
Success in the role depends on strong organizational capabilities, the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects, and effective coordination with contractors. The supervisor maintains schedules, orders supplies, and ensures personnel leadership supports a positive workplace environment.
Requirements
- Skilled at managing multiple concurrent projects with strong organizational and planning capabilities
- Experience with personnel leadership, scheduling work hours, and promoting a safe, efficient, positive workplace
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics
- Experience with circuit design, load planning, troubleshooting, and installation of 480V and 208V three-phase systems
- Hands-on experience with motors, drives, lighting systems, switchboards, relays, controllers, and PLCs
- Proficiency in structural steel and sheet metal fabrication, MIG/TIG/stick welding, and brazing/soldering
- Operation of brake, shear, roll, and ironworking tools for metal fabrication tasks
- Experience with lathe, Bridgeport, drill presses, and vertical/horizontal machining equipment
Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate activities of small groups of maintenance personnel and contractors
- Manage multiple concurrent projects with strong organizational and planning capabilities
- Develop material lists for projects and order supplies as needed
- Read and understand blueprints and schematics for jobs and project planning
- Perform circuit design, load planning, troubleshooting, and installation on 480V and 208V three-phase systems
- Conduct structural steel and sheet metal fabrication including MIG/TIG/stick welding and brazing
- Operate machining equipment such as lathes, Bridgeport mills, drill presses, and ironworking tools
