About this role

Aerodrome Management Services (AMS) is a leading Australian aviation consultancy and airport operations provider. We seek Aviation Screening Officers for Geraldton Airport on a casual basis. This role offers 20–40 hours per fortnight, ideal for flexible work in a safety-critical environment.

As an Aviation Screening Officer, you'll play a vital role in protecting passengers, aircraft and airport operations. You'll be the face of airport security, conducting screening professionally with a positive customer focus. No two days are the same as you work with passengers, airline staff and stakeholders.

You will maintain the highest aviation security standards and regulatory compliance in a hands-on role. The environment is fast-paced and requires calm focus while working independently and as part of a team. AMS provides specialist services to aerodromes across Australia, from major hubs to remote airstrips.

This role offers exposure to diverse projects and the chance to build a rewarding career in aviation security. Full training may be provided to suitable applicants, whether already qualified or new to the field. AMS values safety, quality, and teamwork in a growing team.

Requirements

  • Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (preferred) or willingness to obtain
  • Full training may be provided to suitable applicants
  • Ability to obtain Dangerous Goods Awareness Training and First Aid certification
  • Hold, or be eligible to obtain, an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
  • Willingness to participate in random drug and alcohol testing in accordance with Civil Aviation Safety Regulations
  • Australian working rights

Responsibilities

  • Conduct passenger and baggage screening activities in accordance with aviation security regulations
  • Ensure compliance with aviation security regulations and procedures
  • Provide exceptional customer service in a professional airport environment
  • Monitor and report security incidents or irregularities
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Contribute to a safe, secure and welcoming airport experience
