About this role

As a Journeyman Electrician on Walmart's general facilities maintenance team, you will oversee the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of equipment, fixtures, and building systems. This position blends electrical expertise with cross-trade skills to support a dynamic retail environment, ensuring all facilities operate efficiently.

Your daily work involves performing preventive maintenance according to established schedules, inspecting and repairing facilities, and diagnosing issues using blueprints and manuals. You will handle major and minor repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling, and food equipment, responding promptly to emergency calls.

You will manage work orders, maintenance logs, and contractor relationships while ensuring compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations. Leading and participating in teams, you will coordinate work assignments, share resources, and help others adapt to change, contributing to a collaborative maintenance environment.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification.
  • Proven experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial or industrial facilities.
  • Proficiency in multiple craft skills such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical repair.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and the ability to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs.
  • Experience managing work orders, inventory, and contractor oversight.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to transport equipment between facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures.
  • Performs major and minor repairs utilizing multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling, and food equipment.
  • Inspects, operates, and tests facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues; dismantles and replaces defective parts.
  • Manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors; orders parts and tracks expenses.
  • Leads and participates in teams; coordinates work assignments and provides support to ensure quality and timelines.
  • Develops and implements processes to meet business needs; collaborates with managers and co-workers.
  • Demonstrates and promotes compliance with company policies, ethics, and regulatory standards (OSHA, EPA).
