About this role
Handshake is recruiting Airfield Operations Specialist professionals to contribute to an hourly, temporary AI research project. No AI experience is needed. Leverage your professional experience to evaluate AI model outputs, assess content related to your field, and deliver clear, structured feedback that strengthens the model's understanding of workplace tasks and language.
The position is remote and asynchronous, allowing you to work independently from wherever you are. Hours are flexible with no minimum commitment, though most average 5-20 hours. Placement into projects depends on availability, with more opportunities opening periodically.
Your work involves developing prompts for AI models that reflect airfield operations and then evaluating the responses. This draws directly on your real-world responsibilities like inspecting airfield conditions or coordinating with air traffic control. Requirements
- At least 4 years of professional experience in airfield operations
- Inspect airfield conditions to ensure compliance with federal regulatory requirements
- Implement airfield safety procedures to maintain a safe operating environment
- Conduct inspections of airport property and perimeter to maintain controlled access
- Coordinate communications between air traffic control and maintenance personnel
- Monitor aircraft arrival, parking, refueling, loading, and departure operations
- Manage wildlife on and around airport grounds
- Initiate or coordinate airport-wide snow removal on runways and taxiways
