The Florida State Guard serves as a cornerstone of statewide crisis and emergency response. Airfield Operations Specialists IV protect life and property through rapid deployment of ground, maritime, and air capabilities, including Group 1-3 UAS. They partner with state and local agencies to address public safety threats.
Plan, coordinate, schedule, and execute operations with Group 1-3 UAS supporting public safety and emergency management. Manage UAS fleet, conduct risk assessments, and enforce flight safety protocols. Handle equipment in field missions while maintaining compliance with FAA regulations.
Based in Tallahassee, Florida, this role involves a dynamic team environment within the Department of Military Affairs. Work schedule varies to meet day or night training and mission needs, including weekends and holidays. Support law enforcement or emergency operations with extended hours as required.

Requirements
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or equivalent certification (mandatory)
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; aviation preferred
- Proven experience in UAS operations and aviation management
- Strong knowledge of UAS technology, regulations, and industry trends
- Experience with Group 1-3 UAS fleet management, risk assessment, and flight safety protocols
- Physical fitness to handle equipment and participate in field missions
- Availability for variable work schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours
