About this role

As a Security Screening Officer with Allied Universal, you will serve and safeguard clients in a government location. Your role involves monitoring entry points, screening visitors and staff, and supporting access procedures while delivering outstanding customer service. You will help deter security-related incidents through consistent screening practices.

On a typical day, you will screen individuals, packages, and vehicles in accordance with post procedures. You will also conduct routine patrols, document observations, and report any prohibited items or unusual activity to appropriate personnel. You will respond to incidents in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating clearly with supervisors.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience preferred.
  • Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public by carrying out screening procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Screen individuals, personal property, packages, and/or vehicles in accordance with post procedures, and report prohibited items, unusual activity, and/or policy concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Monitor entry points and access activity, verify identification or credentials as directed, and help deter unauthorized access through consistent screening-related practices.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating clearly with supervisors, staff, and/or public officials.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter as assigned, noting potential security-related concerns and reporting maintenance, access, and/or operational issues.
