About this role
This role performs routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures. The technician follows established preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines, inspecting, cleaning, and repairing facilities as needed.
Day-to-day work involves performing major and minor repairs on facilities, equipment, or fixtures by utilizing multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry. The technician diagnoses issues by inspecting, operating, or testing equipment, and uses blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs to access and remove defective parts.
The position manages work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors by completing required written and electronic information such as expense vouchers and work orders. The technician also orders parts and replacement equipment, tracks orders, and ensures compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
This role leads and participates in teams by sharing resources, information, and tools, and by coordinating work assignments to meet business needs. The technician collaborates with managers, co-workers, and customers to develop and implement processes that improve safety and operational quality.
Requirements
- Journeyman Plumber certification or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
- Ability to diagnose problems using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, hoists, and other equipment
- Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines
- Ability to complete and provide written and electronic information such as expense vouchers, work orders, and maintenance logs
- Experience ordering parts and replacement equipment and tracking orders
Responsibilities
