About this role

We are looking for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities Management team based in Cheltenham. Reporting directly to the Head of Facilities, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our buildings, services, and grounds are maintained to a high standard.

Day-to-day, you will carry out and supervise a wide range of building fabric, services, and grounds maintenance activities. This includes responding to faults logged via the FM Helpdesk, performing planned preventative maintenance tasks, and managing external FM contractors.

You will work within a dedicated FM Maintenance Team that supports a safe, efficient, and well-presented environment for staff, visitors, and customers. The role also involves conducting daily inspections of buildings and grounds to identify, prioritise, and plan maintenance activities.

This position offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise to deliver cost-effective and business-focused maintenance solutions. You will also support small facilities projects and contribute to emergency or incident response operations as needed.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Clean, full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality, standards, and safety

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, manage, and respond to facilities faults logged via the FM Helpdesk
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance to building fabric, services, fixtures, and grounds
  • Maintain site roads, paths, and car parks, including litter clearance and seasonal gritting, salting, and snow clearance
  • Undertake office moves, including packing and relocating furniture
  • Perform general landscaping duties, including mowing, weeding, pruning, and grounds maintenance
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks, including testing, data recording, cleaning, and fire alarm testing
  • Oversee and manage external FM contractors, ensuring service standards and compliance with company EHS policies
  • Conduct daily inspections of buildings and grounds to identify, prioritise, and plan maintenance activities
