About this role

This role focuses on ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, and fixtures through routine preventive maintenance. The technician inspects, cleans, and repairs assets while documenting signs of wear and tear to recommend corrective actions.

Major and minor repairs are performed using multiple craft skills, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and material handling equipment. The technician diagnoses issues by reading blueprints and parts catalogs, then uses hand tools, power tools, and hoists to complete repairs and respond to emergency calls.

Work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor activities are managed with attention to OSHA and EPA regulations. The technician orders parts, tracks purchases, submits warranty claims, and ensures all work complies with federal, state, and local standards.

This position also involves leading teams by sharing resources, coordinating assignments, and providing feedback to meet quality and timeline goals. The technician collaborates with managers and peers to develop processes that improve efficiency and address improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent certification
  • Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations and guidelines
  • Experience with preventive maintenance and repair of electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, hoists, and electrical testing equipment
  • Ability to manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractor activities

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure safety, proper functionality, and aesthetics of facilities, equipment, or fixtures
  • Inspect, clean, and repair facilities, equipment, or fixtures; document signs of wear and tear and recommend repair needs
  • Perform major and minor repairs using multiple craft skills including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment
  • Diagnose issues by inspecting, operating, or testing equipment; use blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as needed
  • Manage work orders, maintenance schedules, and contractors; order parts and replacement equipment, track orders, and record purchases
  • Comply with OSHA and EPA regulations; ensure contractors follow Walmart quality standards and meet contract requirements
  • Lead and participate in teams by sharing resources, information, and tools; coordinate work assignments and provide feedback
  • Develop, communicate, and implement processes to meet business needs; monitor progress and identify improvement opportunities
