The Logistics Customer Service Agent maintains the day-to-day operations and administrative duties of the Dispatch Center. This role interacts directly with customers and records all incoming orders using dispatch software. They also complete US border documentation and verify contract pricing across multiple platforms.

The agent fields phone calls and emails, responds to customers, and records orders. They assist dispatch by checking product availability with the load source and finalizing orders to begin billing. This requires spreadsheets, word processing, and database software for accurate record keeping.

The agent works under the Operations Manager and collaborates with truck drivers and sales managers. They foster strong relationships with internal staff and external partners to ensure smooth logistics operations. The fast-paced environment demands organizational skills and the ability to thrive under pressure.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience in Transportation, Logistics
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service-related role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive, service-oriented attitude
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous projects and priorities at once
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment
  • Good computer skills using various software platforms and excellent phone disposition
  • Ability to foster and maintain relationships especially with truck drivers and staff

Responsibilities

  • Maintain updated knowledge of all company products and services to provide adequate education to customers
  • Field incoming phone calls, emails, and respond to customers, record orders, and provide routine information
  • Perform operating sequences to enter all incoming orders into dispatch software
  • Assist dispatch in checking if all products are available at the time of order by verification with load source
  • Complete all US inter jurisdictional paperwork (US border documentation)
  • Verification of contract pricing across multiple platforms
  • Finalize completed orders to begin the billing process
