The Security Screener provides security screening to prevent the introduction of weapons, explosives and other deadly or dangerous items into the air transportation system. Screening is performed by means of available equipment such as hand-held metal detectors and physical inspections. This role delivers security for aircraft, airports, air carriers and staff.
You must be familiar with all Government, Airport, Client and Company regulations while dealing courteously with fellow employees. The position requires active participation in the Safety Management System and immediate communication of safety hazards or equipment problems to managers.

Requirements
- Familiarity with Government, Airport, Client and Company regulations
- Ability to conduct physical searches and handle questionable items
- Knowledge of procedures for notifying Law Enforcement and Ground Security Coordinator
- Understanding of safe handling protocols for weapons and contraband
- Commitment to Safety Management System participation
Responsibilities
- Maintain familiarity with all Government, Airport, Client and Company regulations
- Communicate courteously and effectively with fellow employees
- Participate actively in the Safety Management System (SMS)
- Report safety hazards and equipment problems to managers
- Conduct physical searches and take proper action upon detection of questionable or dangerous items
- Notify Law Enforcement Officer and Airline Ground Security Coordinator immediately when necessary
- Ensure safe handling of dangerous or deadly weapons until Law Enforcement arrival
- Report all Government tests, real weapons, injuries and major incidents to supervisor immediately
