Security Screener

As a Security Screener, you will provide security screening to prevent the introduction of weapons, explosives, and other deadly or dangerous items into the air transportation system.

You will operate screening equipment such as hand-held metal detectors and conduct physical inspections of passengers and baggage. You must be familiar with all government, airport, client, and company regulations and communicate courteously with fellow employees. You will also actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS) and report safety hazards and equipment problems to managers.

When dangerous or questionable items are detected, you will conduct physical searches and take proper action, including notifying law enforcement officers immediately. You will ensure safe handling of dangerous or deadly weapons until law enforcement arrives and maintain control of items. You will also report all government tests, real weapons, injuries, and other major incidents to your supervisor.
