The Air Cargo Agent handles computer data entry, prepares all flight documents, interfaces with U.S. Customs, and manages import/export documentation per air carrier and DOT regulations. Accept and distribute cargo, move items up to 70lbs, and comply with site security procedures for warehouse operations. Remain cognizant of staff, security contractors, and visitors' activities while reporting breaches.

Work in a fast-paced environment requiring ability to handle stress during eight-hour shifts, drive cargo handling equipment, and travel to Airport Operational Area to meet flights. Provide customer assistance, collect charges, process Customs Out, and confirm bookings with TSA screening. Answer calls, respond to emails, and prepare reports like irregularity and statistics.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and Port Authority or Airport Authority permit to use ramp side service roads
  • At least 18 years of age if position requires driving cargo handling equipment
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends, holidays and days off
  • Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
  • Minimum typing speed of 30 WPM
  • Ability to handle the stress of a fast-paced eight-hour shift
  • Ability to move cargo up to 70lbs

Responsibilities

  • Prepare documentation prior to flight arrival or departure, review, organize, make copies and distribute
  • Travel to Airport Operational Area (AOA) to meet flight upon arrival or departure to retrieve or drop off documents
  • Data capture AWB information into airline system(s)
  • Manifest flight based on information received from the warehouse
  • Print flight manifest, cargo pallet message, deadload and NOTOC and deliver to the aircraft
  • Verify post flight inventory with documents on hand
  • Assist customers arriving to retrieve documents and freight, collect charges and process Customs Out
  • Maintain security under Airport Police, TSA and comply with WFS site security procedures
